I started a company!  Here’s the original announcement from this morning.

Hey there!
I launched a new venture this summer – The Argyle Company – and thought that I’d send a quick note to spread the word.
Argyle is just now getting started, but we’ve set our sights on the moon. As you might imagine, [...]

The show ended ~2 hours ago and all of her staff is gone, yet Kelly is patiently waiting with Sally – the elderly woman in the wheelchair who’s ride home still hasn’t arrived.

I caught up with my friend Brad last night as a part of church small group that Kelly and I plan to begin attending on a regular basis.*
As we talked about the mixed bag of good/bad stuff we’re dealing with, Brad brought up the dreaded end of the quarter/month.  He’s in sales and – as [...]

I’m guessing you’ve read about the Large Hadron Collider, a $9B project funded by CERN.  If not – here is the latest.
I’m guessing that you may have also read The End of Poverty by Jeffrey Sachs…or maybe have a general awareness that 1/6 of the world lives on less than $1.25 per day…or at least [...]

Think twice before investing a sizable chunk of your student loan in the stock market.*
Ugh.  Such a bad past 9 months.  At least I wasn’t in Lehman, et al.

(Some things warrant waking up early. Accounting class [...]

Two Good Reads

10Feb08

I flew to California for an interview this weekend and finished 2 really good, really depressing books, American Pastoral and Everyman – both by Philip Roth.
It was an absolute pleasure to read something completely unrelated to school, despite the fact that I felt awful after finishing the last page of each.
I’ve got a few interview-related [...]

San Francisco

03Jan08

Kelly and I are in San Francisco for a business/pleasure trip.  We wandered around yesterday and have all day today and Saturday for fun.  Tomorrow, I have interviews with 2 high roller Internet software companies…and I’m nervous as hell.
We’re staying with friends Alison and Fabian just a few blocks away from Haight St.  Their place [...]

I’ve grown tired of the Gaston County “over-eat and watch a movie” Christmas break paradigm, so I figured I’d test drive a new “over-eat and update your blog” holiday tradition. Some odds and ends as I digest…
My break actually started a day earlier than originally planned. Though I still had an Operations exam [...]
